  • 發展使命 Development mission
  淡江大學是國內私校發展最快速的綜合性大學之一,教學、研究及服務是辦學的最高宗旨。淡江迄今已發展成擁有淡水、台北、蘭陽、網路等4個校園的綜合型大學,共有8個學院、24,000餘名學生、2,000餘位專兼任教職員工及27萬名校友,是國內具規模且功能完備的高等教育學府之一。

  Tamkang University is one of the fastest growing private universities in China. Teaching, research and service are the highest goals of running a school. So far, Tamkang has developed into a comprehensive university with 4 campuses including Danshui, Taipei, Lanyang, and the Internet. There are 8 colleges, more than 24,000 students, more than 2,000 full-time and part-time faculty members, and 270,000 alumni. One of the large-scale and fully functional higher education institutions.

  • 資訊化對社會變遷的衝擊 The impact of informatization on social changes
  伴隨資訊化社會來臨的是「知識爆發」的衝擊。任何人再也無法自絕於此一時代的洪流之外, 資訊的學習始終無法跟得上社會急遽的變化。個人所面臨的另一發展阻礙就是適應能力不足的課題, 知識爆炸使學習的領域擴增,造成了對繼續學習的不斷需求。在專業知識方面,知識壽命不斷地縮短, 每個人要活得有尊嚴、有價值,在人生的每一階段都要有充分的規劃,因應情勢妥善轉換, 建立合宜的人生價值觀,不斷擷取應有的知識和技能,創造發展圓融的人生, 於是「終生學習」的生涯規畫與發展普遍成為當代人的一種生活方式。

  Accompanying the information society is the impact of "knowledge explosion." No one can extricate themselves from the torrent of this era, and the learning of information has never been able to keep up with the rapid changes in society. Another obstacle to development faced by individuals is the problem of insufficient adaptability. The explosion of knowledge expands the field of learning and creates a constant demand for continued learning. In terms of professional knowledge, the life span of knowledge is constantly shortening. Everyone must live with dignity and worth. At every stage of life, there must be adequate planning, appropriate changes in the situation, establishment of appropriate life values, and continuous selection of responses. Some knowledge and skills can create and develop a harmonious life, so career planning and development of "lifelong learning" have generally become a way of life for contemporary people.

  為因應此等前所未有的挑戰及推昇國家的生產力與競爭力。前教育部吳部長京教授在其「教育改革」的政策內, 提出了「第三條教育國道」的觀念:開放「推廣教育」。尤有進者,前教育部林故部長清江擘劃我國未來教育藍圖時, 更強調「回流教育」的重要性,及加速推廣的決心。此一政策更具深遠意義。個人為了提高技能和充實知識, 企業為了永續經營,必然是要不斷地接受再教育和再訓練,以激發個人潛能。在學習社會中,個人所需的不僅是學校教育,而是終身教育。 終身教育已成為了世界教育的新潮流,也是因應未來社會發展的一項重要策略,更是教育改革一項重要方針。 職是之故,「推廣教育」對於個人和社會的助益將是無可限量的。


  To cope with such unprecedented challenges and promote the country’s productivity and competitiveness. In the learning society, what individuals need is not only school education, but lifelong education. Lifelong education has become a new trend in world education, an important strategy for future social development, and an important policy for education reform. Because of the occupation, the benefit of "promoting education" to individuals and society will be limitless.

  本處正是因應我國內外環境的變遷,以宏觀的視野,務實的作法, 提供了包括個人、企業組織、公民營機構以及政府單位在內的國人最新穎、最嚴謹以及最即時的知識服務。 「浩浩淡江,萬里通航。」淡江大學自創校以來,從英專、文理學院到大學的成長歷程,無不力求自我突破, 並以「領先群倫」、「開風氣之先」自許。本校不僅引領著自我的率先成長,更積極地帶領社會的進化。

  • 未來展望 Future outlook
  掌握時代脈動,創造教育新局。在傳統教育之外,不連續及不穩定,成了新社會的特質。 在高度的不確定性之下,社會與組織要永續長存,個人要保有自主的空間,就非得不斷地提升自己不可。

  有鑑於此,本處在淡江大學的整體經營體制下,已貫徹「全面品質管理」(TQM)的執行,徹底控管我們的所有教學與教育的活動, 確保所提供的知識產品是高品質、新穎無瑕的。並與本校「三化理念」結合,展現其精神,落實其理念:

  In view of this, under the overall management system of Tamkang University, the Department has implemented "Total Quality Management" (TQM), thoroughly controls all our teaching and education activities, and ensures that the knowledge products provided are of high quality , Novel and flawless. And combined with the school’s "three modernizations" to show its spirit and implement its philosophy:
  1. 國際化:與國外合作,引進最新的觀念、課程與教學方法。在本處修習課程中,有如坐擁地球村的資訊。 本處的教育活動將深具國際特色。

    Internationalization: Cooperate with foreign countries to introduce the latest concepts, courses and teaching methods. In this course, it is like having information about the global village. The educational activities of the Department will be deeply international.
  2. 資訊化:本處充分善用本校的資源,並在本校所有系所及優秀教授群的精心經營下,掌握全球的資訊脈動, 隨時調整課程,更新教材,並且快速提供學習者資訊獲取的管道、設備和方法,讓他們成為掌握資訊的贏家。

    Informationization: The Department makes full use of the resources of the school, and under the careful management of all departments and excellent professors of the school, it grasps the global information pulse, adjusts courses at any time, updates teaching materials, and quickly provides access to learner information.   3. 未來化:本處對於開班和課程,皆具有「前瞻性」的。不僅是「顧客需求導向」, 更是「引導顧客需求導向」的。既是「教育」,不只是「有以待之」,更是「預見未來」, 為學習者規劃並且落實「未來的願景」,使其能「認識未來,適應未來,進而創造未來」。 我們正以主動積極的態度面對急速的變遷 。

    Future-oriented: The department is "forward-looking" in opening classes and courses. It is not only "customer demand-oriented", but also "guided customer demand-oriented".
